Sometimes during
winter Canada geese are seen flying over my yard. Now some have joined
migratory flocks of mallards, coots, and
wigeons at pond in a small
park. The wild birds gather with park ducks where well meaning people
distribute large amounts of bread and other feed. As a result many park
ponds are over crowded and messy.
The wild geese
are not the least shy about begging.
The wild Canada
geese learn quickly that they are safe in a park. They are comfortable
with many people close around, but keep a greater distance from dogs.
